Fitzgerald Corbin’s practice is primarily in the following areas:
1. Conveyancing – the transferring of all types of property from one owner to another.
Buying & Selling a House or other Property
Although buying and selling property might seem a simple, everyday event, getting it wrong can be a very costly and painful mistake. It is always important to be fully advised from the earliest opportunity:
- Take advantage of an initial consultation with us even before you have found the right property
- Have you found a place but need a quote for our services? Why not contact us with your details and get an answer on charges before your first appointment
- We will tell you about the consequences of the much talked about new Government plans to speed up the property selling and buying process
- Are you confused by terms such as “fixed term leasehold”, “rights of way” or similar? We can help by cutting through the jargon to give you straight forward, no nonsense advice
Have you made the decision to buy but need more information on whom you should be talking to and when? We can put you in touch with others including estate agents, surveyors, removal companies and construction firms.
2. Wills and Probate – the vital task of having a will drawn up and following of legal procedures when a person passes away.
Making or Changing a Will
It’s never too early to make a will. Here at Fitzgerald Corbin we see it as the best way of putting your mind at rest about the future while you are still in perfect health.
- We can draft your will, or amend it if your circumstances have changed - for instance if you have married, divorced, had children or grandchildren
- Has another person named you in their will as executor? That means you’ll need to act when that person passes away. We provide help in sorting out legal necessities such as applying for Probate, dealing with assets and contacting those named in the will
- It might be wise to consider now what specific matters you would like to address in a will, which of course is a binding legal document – why not make an appointment to discuss your requirements, or just to get initial advice on the subject
3. General Practice
- Licensing applications and advice
- Landlord and Tenant enquiries
Sometimes there are problems that you need help with but are not even sure if you need a solicitor. It might be that you are experiencing difficulties with a landlord or tenant or you need to let a shop, flat or garage.
At Fitzgerald Corbin the aim is to assist if at all possible, or provide helpful referrals elsewhere if not.
