WHAT’S NEW?

The law relating to Intellectual Property & Copyrights is constantly changing. This page aims to keep you informed of recent developments in this area and also to provide links to further information.

Recent Developments in Intellectual Property Law

  • The European Commission is proposing to introduce a Community Patent which would be valid across all member countries of the European Union. If the patent were successfully challenged, however, the challenge would also be valid in all member countries.
  • Software Patents: the demand for clarification of the law regarding software patents has increased considerably recently. The government in the UK is working with the European Union to create an EU-wide policy.
